Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient form of medicine, practiced for over 2000 years and is considered a holistic approach to health due to its comprehensive view of the human body and disease. It involves the precise application of very fine solid sterile needles into specific points and cue's the body’s innate self-healing ability to achieve a state of homeostasis, or balance. Acupuncture’s most appealing quality is its use as a preventative medicine, because its goal is to treat the root problem or cause of the disease rather than suppress symptoms as does Western medicine. It can be used for all types of conditions including but not limited to musculo-skeletal issues, chronic body pain, post-operative pain, migraines, digestive disorders, allergies, gynecological issues, dermatology and addictions to name a few. From a biomedical standpoint, acupuncture relieves pain, reduces inflammation and restores the body’s natural homeostasis by activating the nervous, immune and endocrine systems. It is a natural and safe medicinal practice with few risks and no side-effects.

Chinese Herbs

Chinese herbal formulas are a traditional form of Western internal medicine. The combination of single herbs into a specific customized herbal formula is a necessary and integral part of an individual's healthcare plan. Herbs can be taken in granules, pills, tablets, and tinctures, or can be applied externally as a poultice or a liniment.

Cupping

Cupping is a technique using small glass cups to create a suction or vacuum when placed over the skin. This technique helps to increase bloodflow, relieve pain & congestion, and produce muscle relaxation. Cupping can be used for a variety of conditions including neck and shoulder pain, low back pain, cough, asthma,  the common cold, and digestive disorders.

Gua Sha

Gua Sha is a therapeutic technique designed to relieve pain and muscle aches by using a rounded smooth edge of a special tool that is rubbed lightly over the skin. This action increases blood circulation locally helping to break up tough tissue adhesions while reducing pain from chronic injuries or relieving acute muscular stiffness and pain.

Acupressure, Massage, Bodywork
Acupressure, Deep tissue, and Circulatory massage are all types of body manipulations that help to relieve achy, tight muscles and induce relaxation. Massage can help improve circulation of blood and lymph, calm the nervous system, eliminate metobolic waste, increase range of motion, and improve flexibility.
